Success of entrepreneurs in India despite an inefficient government and democracy

I was reading today about entrepreneurship in India seeing a big push from the younger crowd. This is certainly a great thing to happen in a country where educated youngsters were milling around MNCs to get a job until recently. I hope we will have something like Facebook or Twitter originating from India in the next 5 years. And to think all of this is happening despite India having the most inefficient government in any democracy, it gives me goosebumps. The next major change that has to happen is in the electorate - the voting public have to decide that their elected representatives have a basic understanding of governance, development planning and think and act for the national cause than lining their pockets. I think the best catalyst for this would be a media that thinks progressively and captures actions of our elected representatives both in the legislative scene and outside - this would normally be construed an invasion of privacy, but with the future of India at stake, our MPs and MLAs should sign off on a consent form allowing their lives to be tracked real time during their tenure. A citizen of the developed world would not ever understand my reasoning here - you need to live in India for a couple of years to understand why. Also, media should showcase how legislators function in other democracies in the world. Currently, the public in India are living in a well and have no exposure on how a democracy functions efficiently in the interests of its citizens. The media can play the lead role in this process by interviewing Indians who have lived in such democracies and asking about their experiences. There could even be movies that have 'change' as the theme showing how the electorate moves from choosing populist politicians who use religion and money to get elected to leaders who can take India to the next level. May be this could be a cause taken up by someone like Aamir Khan who can sway thinking at the national level. These are just my humble thoughts on how India can be a great nation where everyone is treated fair and square than a crony democracy where the rich and the landed get richer yet while the poor slide further down the slime pit.
